Well - today the issue is coming to vote. Lots of mobilization in support of the repeal of the pit-bull ban in Miami. I don't vote in that County but am hoping that the ban is repealed today

This was the one started by the baseball player - right? Crossing fingers...

Not sure if Mark Buehrle's wife started it, but they certainly were active. He is a new pitcher for the Marlins who had to live in Broward County because of the family's adopted pit bull.

Well...not exactly totally gone. Assuming the senate passed the current bill last night, Maryland is now a strict liability state until Sept 2013, when the bill will expire. They don't really want to pass a bill without a lot more study so they've set it to expire. I think this is all great news but it's a bit like being on probation, as I see it. We're going to be having this same discussion a year from now because things are going to change again.

Unfortunately, the repeal failed and the Pit Bull ban remains in Miami. Major bummer:(

It was a popular vote, 67% or so voted against repealing the ban.

Well, that's the solution then. Everyone who wanted a pitbull now adopt a tiger instead! See how much fun that is...
